Help Us Make A Difference! Olentangy School District Save their Music Programs We are group of concern community members in the Olentangy Schools District that support the arts. We are concerned about the cuts in the elementary strings program that were announced at the November 10th meeting. These cuts move strings instruction from within the school day to a once weekly after school program. We believe this "adjustment" will negatively impact the school community, learning and participation in the excellent string program. Currently, 63% of all fourth graders (860 young musicians) participate in the string program. We are especially disappointed that these changes were made without any opportunity for input from parents. We implore the Olentangy BOE to open this decision for further consideration and look for other budget savings that will have a less devastating impact on the education of our children.
