Help Us Save Our Music Programs

Please help us get a "STAY OF EXECUTION":
Fact: The Board and administration of Olentangy Schools has proposed moving music programs after school to save money!
Fact: Removing the music from the school day is essentially a death sentence for the music programs
Fact: Countless research studies demonstrate that in-school music programs:
  • increase intellectual development
  • improve test scores
  • improve the entire school climate
  • increase reading and math scores.

If the program is moved to after school:
  • Fewer children will be able to participate
  • Parents will suffer undo hardship with logistics and transportation
  • Lack of accountability in the classroom will result in inconsistent lessons
  • Increased length of day will be stressful for both students and teachers
  • Fewer students starting strings will mean even fewer will go on to play in Middle and High School and jeopardizing the entire program.
Fact: Your voice and support can make a difference:
1. Call, write or email our administrators or Board Members;
2. Volunteer to collect names on our  Petition of Support ;
3. Attend one of the events or concerts.
  • SIGN OUR PETITION
  • VOLUNTEER TO COLLECT PETITIONS AT A CONCERT OR EVENT
It is on! We need your help mobilizing our community response to the proposed "execution" of the music programs at Olentangy Schools.
